§ 1 Contracting Party and Scope
1.1 These General Terms and Conditions apply to all services provided by Boardroom GmbH, Monumentenstraße 35, 10829 Berlin, Germany (hereinafter “Boardroom” or “we”) to its guests and customers (hereinafter “Guest”).

1.3 These terms apply to visiting our board game café, to table reservations, to bookings of our group room, and to registrations for and ticket purchases for events, in each case including online bookings via our reservation system.
1.4 We do not recognise any conflicting or deviating terms of the Guest unless we expressly agree to their validity in writing.
§ 2 Services
2.1 Café operation: Boardroom operates a board game café offering food and drinks as well as a game library whose board games can be used by our guests on site.
2.2 Game fee: A game fee per person is charged for using the game library. The current prices can be viewed at the counter and on our website.
2.3 Table reservation: Table reservations are free of charge and available for groups of 1–6 people. A reservation secures a table for the booked duration; the game fee is paid on site.
2.4 Group room: Our separate group room can be booked for 6–12 people and is suitable for private events, company events and larger game sessions. Bookings for more than 12 people are only possible after prior enquiry and separate agreement. Between two group room bookings we keep a buffer of 30 minutes free for tidying up; start times available for online booking may therefore shift.
2.5 Food and drinks: Boardroom offers food and drinks for sale. Bringing your own food and drinks is generally not permitted unless expressly agreed otherwise (e.g. a birthday cake by prior arrangement).
2.6 Events: Boardroom hosts events (e.g. workshops, tournaments, game sessions). Date, price, number of participants and, where applicable, the registration deadline are stated in the respective event description on our website. Registration is done online. If all places are taken, a waiting list may be kept; when a place becomes available, we will inform the next person on the waiting list by email. For paid events, registration only becomes binding after full payment; a place whose payment is not completed within 30 minutes may be released again.
§ 3 Reservations
3.1 Table reservations can be made via our online booking system at reservieren.boardroom.berlin or by phone. The reservation becomes binding with a confirmation email.
3.2 Group room bookings and paid event registrations are only confirmed once full payment (§ 4) has been made. Until payment, there is no entitlement to the room or the place.
3.3 Reservations are not transferable. The person making the reservation is liable for the entire group.
3.4 Each email address may make a maximum of one active reservation per day.
3.5 We reserve the right to refuse or cancel reservations, in particular in the event of justified suspicion of misuse, repeated no-shows, or if a person is on our house ban list.
§ 4 Payment (Group Room and Events)
4.1 Group room: The price depends on the number of people, duration and day of the week and must be paid in full and immediately via PayPal when booking online.
4.2 Food and drinks are paid for separately on site.
4.3 Events: The price is stated in the respective event description and must be paid via PayPal when registering online.
4.4 On site we accept cash as well as common card payments.
4.5 On request we issue an invoice by email. The invoice contains all details required by law pursuant to § 14 UStG (German VAT Act).
4.6 Individual offers (e.g. team events, private parties): Payment terms, in particular any deposit, are set out in the respective offer. Unless stated otherwise there, § 5.2 applies accordingly.
§ 5 Cancellation, Refunds, No-Show and Rebooking
5.1 Table reservations can be cancelled or rebooked free of charge at any time (via the link in the confirmation email).
5.2 Group room bookings and events: Cancellation is possible at any time; the room or place then becomes available again. For payments already made, the following applies, measured from the start of the booking or event:
a) Cancellation at least 48 hours in advance: refund of 100%.
b) Cancellation less than 48 but at least 24 hours in advance: refund of 50%.
c) Cancellation less than 24 hours in advance: no refund.
This also applies if the booking was made shortly before the date. The refund is made via the originally used payment method (PayPal). Payment fees already incurred by the payment provider cannot be recovered by us.
5.3 No-show: If a Guest does not appear at the reservation time and has not cancelled, this counts as a no-show. For table reservations this is noted in the system. After two no-shows, Boardroom reserves the right to permanently block further reservations. For group room bookings and events, a no-show counts as a cancellation less than 24 hours before the start; no refund is made.
5.4 Rebooking: A table can be rebooked via the magic link up to one hour before the appointment, provided capacity is available. For group room bookings, rebooking is only possible after consultation and at our discretion.
5.5 Cancellation by Boardroom: Boardroom reserves the right to cancel reservations, bookings and events for an important reason (e.g. unforeseen closure, official order, insufficient number of participants). In this case, any payment already made will be refunded in full.
5.6 No right of withdrawal: For group room bookings and event registrations for a specific date, there is no statutory right of withdrawal under § 312g (2) no. 9 of the German Civil Code (BGB). The cancellation and refund rules under § 5.2 apply.
§ 6 House Rules and Obligations of Conduct
6.1 Guests undertake to use the premises and the game equipment carefully and as intended.
6.2 Handling of games: The games in the game library are the property of Boardroom. Guests treat them with care. Game instructions remain in the game boxes.
6.3 Noise: We ask for mutual consideration. The establishment reserves the right to intervene in the event of persistent disturbances.
6.4 Minimum age: Visits are possible from 0 years. Children under 10 may only visit Boardroom accompanied by an adult supervisor.
6.5 Alcohol: We sell alcohol exclusively to persons aged 18 and over. We reserve the right to stop selling alcohol to persons who are visibly already under the influence of alcohol.
6.6 House rights: Boardroom reserves the right to refuse guests entry or to ban them from the premises if there is an important reason (e.g. aggressive behaviour, violation of the house rules, damage to property).
6.7 Smoking and e-cigarettes are not permitted indoors.
6.8 Photos and videos: Taking photos for private purposes is permitted. Recordings that show other guests recognisably require their consent. Commercial photo and video recordings are only permitted with prior written permission from Boardroom.
§ 7 Liability and Damages
7.1 Cloakroom and valuables: Boardroom assumes no liability for the loss of or damage to items that were not handed in at a designated locker or the cloakroom. Valuables should not be left unattended.
7.2 Guests’ liability for damages: Guests are liable for damage they intentionally or negligently cause to games, furniture or other property of Boardroom. This includes wilful or grossly negligent damage to game boxes, playing cards, game pieces or other game components. Compensation is based on the replacement value of the damaged item.
§ 8 Data Protection
8.1 The collection, processing and use of personal data is carried out in accordance with our privacy policy, available at boardroom.berlin/datenschutz.
8.2 As part of online reservations, we collect name, email address, number of people and, where applicable, billing data. This data is used exclusively for processing bookings, communication and — where legally required — for bookkeeping.
8.3 Payment data (PayPal) is processed exclusively by PayPal and is not stored by Boardroom.
§ 9 Dispute Resolution

9.2 Boardroom is neither willing nor obliged to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
§ 10 Final Provisions
10.1 The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.
10.2 The place of jurisdiction for merchants and legal entities under public law is Berlin. For consumers, the statutory provisions on jurisdiction apply.
10.3 Should individual provisions of these terms be or become invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions remains unaffected. The statutory regulation replaces invalid clauses.
10.4 Boardroom reserves the right to amend these terms at any time with effect for the future. For existing bookings, the version valid at the time of booking applies.
